What is Cloud Computing?
What comes to your mind from the word cloud combined with computing? Lets get straight and specific towards it. Cloud computing is a way of computing in which general computing processes like managing data, processing and storing data all is done by remote servers making a network on the internet. The term cloud here refers to the entity or the space (the cloud) where all the operations take place and the data is being stored. Many of the big and small companies have started getting shifted to cloud models due to its ease and better performance. Categorically, cloud computing now has been divided into three models which are private, public and hybrid cloud.Private Cloud
Private cloud which is also known as internal or corporate cloud is exactly the same what its name reflects. When a company has got its own set of hardware, cloud infrastructure and the services for computing i.e. it buys the service completely and runs it on its own without any external assistance, it is said to have a private cloud. Private clouds are at times not considered to fulfill the true meaning of cloud computing. These clouds are meant to own the hardware and the software required to run the cloud and it has nothing to provide any service to a client outside the organization. These are on-premise clouds which are more expensive than the public clouds as mentioned earlier that the organization has to buy each and every part of the cloud to get the cloud computing into its very ownership. It doesn’t require the interference of any third party or we can say the external service provider.
Public Cloud
Referring to the basic definition of cloud computing, the public cloud truly reflects the standard cloud computing services. Unlike the private cloud model, public cloud is not confined to any specific organization or company as the name indicates. But it is a network having remote access for public at any place and any time. Mainly, there are service providers which develop such kind of clouds, look into resources, manage applications and storage, keep hardware and software under their consideration and all these services are available to the public on internet. Any organization can choose a service provider that takes the responsibility of providing cloud model to the company with best possible services. This type of clouds are free at times or depends on the usage. The top public cloud service providers of the world include Google, Amazon and Microsoft Azure Service.
