Hybrid Cloud In Cloud Computing

With the fast growing cloud computing trends, there are numerous technologies which have been practiced in order to make the computing more convenient, flawless, efficient and free of errors. Hybrid Cloud Model (ft. Public and Private Cloud)

Hybrid cloud is mainly a mixture of both private and public cloud. Now what a private and a public cloud refers to? A private cloud is one that is owned by a single organization for its private activities and no external computing services are there to serve to this cloud. On contrary, a public cloud is a cloud service given externally to an organization when it requires. The organization, in case of public cloud, buys the services from a cloud service provider and all the maintenance and data management is being done by the service provider.

Coming back to the hybrid cloud model, when an organization is highly concerned with moving workloads smooth and running data management processes efficiently, it gives preference to the hybrid cloud model. All the routine operations related to computing are managed by private cloud internally and when there is a need of high storage and extra services which cant be managed within organizations private cloud, there is a public cloud available, sharing workloads and providing external assistance to the company.

Private clouds are expensive if compared with the public clouds that is one of the reasons that companies mainly rely on services provided by public clouds and utilize private cloud when factors like security, internal data processing and privacy are of high concern. Hybrid cloud is mainly known to add value to the operations utilizing both the clouds on demand basis.

Hybrid Cloud Storage

Being a combination of both public and private cloud, hybrid cloud’s storage is said to be a homogenous storage. It brings with it all kinds of resources including local or private and off-site resources. The data keeps moving and transitions take place in accordance with its usage and requirement. A cloud storage appliance locates the storage software which provides access of data flow between private and public clouds.

Hybrid Cloud Deployment

The deployment methods for hybrid cloud are categorized according to the integration styles that it utilizes. It mainly includes infrastructure, data and application based deployments.

When the cloud deployment method is based on the virtual machines and we need to manage virtual machines in order to have a fine cloud deployment then it is known as infrastructure based deployment of hybrid cloud.

In application based models, the data stored within the on-premise service is accessible by the public cloud. It is said to have an interaction between private and public clouds on service or application basis. It is also called as the hybrid applications and services model.

Data based hybrid models, as the name indicates, depend on the movement and the size of data held by on=premise cloud and its transfer according to the need and demand of the data.
